SkoolPrep ("we," "us") publishes guides and free tools about building a paid community on Skool. This page explains what information we collect when you use skoolprep.com, why, and what choices you have.
What we collect
Analytics. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand which pages are useful and how visitors move through the site. This includes standard technical data such as pages viewed, general location (country/city level), device type, and referring site. We also track when a visitor clicks an outbound link, including affiliate links, so we can see which articles drive interest in Skool.
Email, if you give it to us. The launch planner and calculator let you generate a plan without providing any personal information. If you choose to email yourself a copy of your plan, we store your email address, the plan you generated, and the topic you entered, so we can send it to you and follow up with a short series of emails about launching a Skool community. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any of those emails.
What we don't collect. We don't ask for your name, payment details, or any sensitive personal information. We don't sell your data to third parties.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish visitors and remember your session. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though we won't be able to tell your visit apart from anyone else's.
How we use your information
- To send you a launch plan you asked to receive by email, and the related follow-up emails
- To understand which content and tools are actually useful, so we can improve them
- To measure how many people click through to Skool from this site
Third parties we use
We rely on a small number of providers to run the site and email list: Google Analytics (analytics), Resend (sending emails), OpenAI (generating launch plans from the topic and outcome you enter), Neon (storing plans and subscriber records), and Vercel (hosting). Each processes data on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site, including the buttons that say things like "start your free Skool trial," are affiliate links. If you sign up to Skool through one, we earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This doesn't affect what data we collect from you, and it doesn't change the price you pay Skool.
Your rights
If you're in the UK or EU, you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, request a copy of it, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw consent for emails at any time. To do any of this, email michael@builtbymichael.com or use the unsubscribe link in any email we've sent you.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
