The Skool community plan for dividend investors
A monthly accountability community where you track real dividend income, sanity check ETF distributions, and build a clear path to a reliable portfolio paycheck, without trade calls or buy lists.
Published 22 September 2026
Why this niche works
The recurring moment is already built into the asset class. Most paid communities die in month two because there is no reason to come back, and the owner has to invent one. Dividend investing does not have that problem: distributions land every month, and for a growing list of funds every week. Each one arrives with the same three questions attached. Was that covered or funded out of capital, do I reinvest or rotate, and what will tax do to it. A community that meets on the first weekend of every month to answer those questions has a calendar that fills itself.
The members are cheap to reach and used to paying. A dividend creator with an audience is usually sitting on tens of thousands of followers who reply to income math posts with their own tickers, plus a list of people who have already bought a course, an ebook or a tracker. Income investors also already pay for screeners and data, so a monthly fee is not a new idea to them. The hard part of most launches, convincing people that recurring is normal, is done before you start.
The constraint is what makes it defensible. You cannot give individual recommendations, and you should not want to. A community where the owner shows real numbers and members review each other's process cannot be copied the way a fund list or a course can, and it is the opposite of the signal groups that fill this niche. On the Skool side, Pro becomes the cheaper plan at about 33 members at $39, so a creator converting even a fraction of a percent of a decent audience passes that in the first month.
What the numbers actually look like
Assuming 60 members paying $39 a month.
- Gross member revenue
- $2,340 a month
- Skool fees on Hobby, $9 plus 10%
- about $261 a month
- Skool fees on Pro, $99 plus 2.9%
- about $185 a month
- Take home on Hobby
- about $2,079 a month
- Take home on Pro
- about $2,155 a month
- Subscribers needed on a $12.95 data tool to gross the same
- about 181
- Followers needed at a 0.1% conversion rate
- 60,000
Pro overtakes Hobby at roughly $1,270 a month of member revenue, which at $39 a head is about 33 members. Both fee lines include Skool's $0.30 per transaction. The last two rows are the ones worth sitting with: a room of 60 people grosses what nearly 200 subscribers to a cheap data tool would, and it needs a conversion rate most creators would call a rounding error. Nothing on this page is financial, investment or tax advice, and none of it is a forecast of what any portfolio will pay. Run your own numbers in the earnings calculator rather than trusting these. Open the earnings calculator.
Positioning
In 30 to 90 days you will have a written monthly income target with a dated path, a portfolio tracker you actually update, and the confidence to explain three positions out loud including their tax treatment, with at least one month of income logged publicly in the group.

The offer
This is a community first offer with a lightweight course that standardises the setup: target, tracker, and the distribution review method. The community carries the ongoing value through monthly Distribution Day posts, group reviews of distribution changes, and peer and host accountability. No part of it involves individual buy or sell recommendations.
Weekly structure
Light weekly touchpoints, plus a monthly Distribution Day on the first weekend of every month, which is the moment the whole community is built around.
- Office hours: distribution and tax reality Q and A, general education only, no personal recommendations
- Monthly Distribution Day review call on the first weekend: raises, cuts, return of capital signals, and member income posts
- Monday: this week's income focus, one concept and one action
- Wednesday: distribution notes thread, where members drop notices, clues and questions
- Friday: tracker check in, post an updated income or holdings snapshot, or just tick the checklist
Members commit to a monthly income target and one tracker update a week. On Distribution Day they post two things: last month's income number, and one number they cannot explain. The group and the host reply with clarifying questions, category checks where the information is public, and corrections to the process rather than to the portfolio.
Modules and themes
- Build your income target: monthly goal, timeline, contribution plan and constraints
- Tracker setup: holdings, distributions, yield on cost against current yield, and an income calendar
- Distribution forensics: raises, cuts, specials, and spotting return of capital patterns
- After tax reality in general terms: what to track, where tax shows up, and what to ask a professional
- Explainability: how to describe what you own, and why, in plain language
- Risk and concentration checks: overlap, drawdown tolerance and rebalancing rules, with no specific trades
What keeps people coming back
- The monthly Distribution Day post, with each member commenting on two others
- Weekly tracker check in streaks, where consistency beats completeness
- An explain one holding hot seat, volunteer based, with feedback on the explanation rather than the position
- A community built raised, cut and returned capital watchlist each month, which is a process artefact and not a buy list
Your first 20 members
Where they are
- Your existing audience, starting with the people who already reply to your income posts with their own numbers
- Your email list, segmented by whoever clicked anything about ETFs or distributions
- Past buyers of your course, ebooks or tracker, who have already paid you once
- Commenters who ask the same two questions every month: is this return of capital, and why did the payment change
- Your YouTube comments, where the people asking process questions are easy to spot
- Investing circles you are already in, where people hold income funds and track them badly
Outreach scripts
DM
I'm opening a small Skool group built around one monthly ritual: Distribution Day, on the first weekend. Members post their actual monthly dividend income plus one number they're unsure about, and we review the month's distribution changes together: raises, cuts, possible return of capital, and where the income lands after tax in general terms. No trade calls, no what to buy. Want an invite to be in the first 20 and help shape it?
Subject: Want to join my Distribution Day group? I'm starting a Skool community for intermediate dividend and income ETF investors who want a real monthly paycheck process. The core is simple. On the first weekend of every month you post two things: your dividend income for the month, and one number you're unsure about. We then review the month's distribution announcements together. Who raised, who cut, what might be return of capital, and how to track the after tax reality. That last part is general education, not personal advice. If you want in as a founding member, and there are 20 places, reply with "Distribution Day" and I'll send the details.
Comment
If you're building a monthly paycheck from dividend and income ETFs, I'm starting a small group with one monthly ritual: Distribution Day. Post your income and one confusing number, then we review the month's distribution changes together. No buy lists. Reply "DD" if you want an invite.
Your announcement post
Founding members: help me build Distribution Day
I'm opening a small Skool community for intermediate investors focused on dividend and income ETFs. What we do: 1) First weekend of every month is Distribution Day. You post your actual dividend income for the month, as an exact number or a range, plus one number you're unsure about. 2) We review the month's distribution announcements together: raises, cuts, specials, and possible return of capital. 3) We build one simple repeatable system: an income target with dates, a tracker you keep current, and the ability to explain what you own including the general tax treatment. What we don't do: - No individual recommendations - No answers to what should I buy - No trade calls If you want one of the first 20 places, comment "Distribution Day" and I'll DM you the details.
Comment "Distribution Day", or DM me, and tell me your single biggest tracking problem right now.
Pricing
$29 to $49 a month, with $39 a month as the simple default. An annual option at about ten times the monthly price works once the first cycle has run.
Start paid from day one, because the room only works if members post numbers and a free tier fills with people who never will. If your audience resists paying, use a founding rate for the first 20 in exchange for posting on Distribution Day and giving feedback, and keep it time bound. If you already sell a cheap data product, make that the entry tier and this the premium one that includes it, rather than running two subscriptions that compete.
Include a minimal setup sprint from the start: target, tracker, posting template. Expand it after the first Distribution Day, once you can see where people actually get stuck, which is usually the difference between income and return of capital, and reconciling the cash that hit the account with what they expected.
Price this as an operations and clarity tool, never as a performance promise. If the room saves a member a few hours a month of manual tracking and stops them recording distributions wrongly all year, the fee is easy to justify without anyone implying it will improve returns.

Hooks
- Stop guessing your income. Log it monthly and make it real.
- Distribution Day: one weekend a month to reconcile your portfolio paycheck.
- If you can't explain the distribution, you don't own it yet.
- A community for people who track dividends like adults: numbers, not vibes.
- Know what raised, what cut, and what quietly returned your own capital.
- Turn high yield into reconciled cashflow.
- Build a monthly paycheck process from income ETFs, with no trade calls.
- Your portfolio doesn't pay you monthly until you track it monthly.
- Make your income target dated, tracked and reviewable.
- Post your monthly dividend income, or a range. Get clarity, not recommendations.
- A tracker you update beats a watchlist you scroll.
- Less noise, more reconciliation.
What members are already thinking
- My dividend income is around something, but I can't prove it.
- I don't know which distributions were return of capital and which were income.
- I can't reconcile what hit my account with what I expected.
- I hold too many income ETFs and I don't understand the overlap.
- I can't tell whether the payout is stable or the label just changed.
- I forget to update my tracker until it's tax time.
- I can't explain why I own each position without falling back on the yield.
- I don't have a dated path to my income goal, just a wish.
- Special distributions and changing schedules confuse me every time.
- I want accountability to track it monthly, not another spreadsheet to download.
- I'm tired of buy this content and I want a process.
- I want to see real numbers from real people, not a backtest.
Objection handlers
- We don't tell you what to buy. The room is about tracking, understanding distributions, and frameworks for your own decisions.
- You can post an exact number or a range. Privacy is built in, and the point is consistent reconciliation.
- This is not a beginner course. If you already hold income ETFs and want clarity on distributions, you'll fit.
- We discuss tax in general terms, what to track and what to ask, and never individual tax advice.
- You won't get a model portfolio. You'll get a repeatable system and peer review of your tracking and your explanations.
- If you already track perfectly and never feel unsure about a distribution, you probably don't need this.
- The value is the monthly ritual and the feedback loop, not a content library.
- Miss a month and you rejoin the rhythm on the next one. The system is built for consistency, not perfection.

- Record a 5 to 8 minute welcome video inside Skool explaining the monthly ritual and the first thing to do.
Day 3
Convert the list and put the first events on the calendar
- Email your list with the founding member invite and the limited places.
- Schedule the first office hours and the first Distribution Day review call, and post both as events.
- Publish setup sprint module one: the income target, with a worksheet and a worked example.
Day 4
Get early members posting, because momentum beats content
- Welcome every new member by DM and ask two things: their income target, and the one number they cannot explain.
- Run office hours live, and end by sending everyone to post their tracker check in.
- Reply to every new member post within 12 hours with a clarifying question and a next step.
Day 5
Lock in the routines
- Publish setup sprint module two: tracker setup, fields, frequency and reconciliation steps.
- Start the weekly tracker check in thread and tag every member into it.
- Post the explain one holding hot seat thread with a five sentence template.
Day 6
Build the shared artefacts and some honest proof
- Launch the monthly raised, cut and returned capital watchlist thread, and seed it with five examples of what to look for.
- Collect three short member quotes about clarity and accountability, with permission, and none about returns.
- DM ten more people with a redacted screenshot of the live threads and an invite.
Day 7
Close the first 20 and prepare Distribution Day
- Publish a weekly recap: what happened, what to do next, and the date and time of Distribution Day.
- Send a last call for founding places to your most engaged subscribers.
- Draft the Distribution Day agenda and give every member a job: bring one distribution notice and one question.
Onboarding
Welcome to Distribution Day. Let's make your monthly income real
You're here because you want a reliable monthly income process from dividend and income ETFs. This community runs on one monthly ritual: Distribution Day, on the first weekend of every month. - You post your dividend income for the month, as an exact number or a range - You add one number you're unsure about: return of capital, a tax category, a mismatch - We help you reconcile it and improve your tracking and your explanations One important boundary. We don't give individual recommendations and nobody here tells you what to buy or sell. We work on process, tracking and understanding distributions. Start with the checklist below so you're ready for your first Distribution Day post.
Reply to the roll call thread with three things: your monthly income target, what you currently track with, and the one number you can't explain right now.
Rules
- No individual investment recommendations, no buy or sell instructions, and no prescribing anyone's portfolio.
- General education only. Discuss concepts, distribution mechanics and how to track them, and keep it non personalised.
- Respect privacy. Post exact numbers or ranges as you prefer, and never pressure anyone for specifics.
- Be specific and useful. When you ask for help, include the number you're unsure about and what you think it means.
- Be kind and direct. Critique the process and the maths, not the person.
- Nothing in this community is financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything. Tax talk is general and rules vary by country and by person, so take your own decisions and get professional advice for your own situation.
The weekly rhythm, and the monthly ritual
- Monday: income focus post, one concept and one action
- Wednesday: distribution notes thread, drop announcements and questions
- Friday: tracker check in thread, updates and blockers
- First weekend of the month: Distribution Day posts and the live group review
New member checklist
- Read the rules, especially the one about no personalised recommendations
- Post in roll call: your target, your current tools, and one number you can't explain
- Copy the tracker template fields into your own sheet and enter your holdings
- Add last month's distributions to set a baseline
- Join the next office hours and bring that one number with you
- Do one tracker check in this week, even if it's incomplete
- Prepare your Distribution Day post using the template
- Comment on two other members' posts with a question or a tracking suggestion
What would kill this community
The plan above is the optimistic version. These are the four ways it actually goes wrong, and they matter more than anything in it.
It slides into giving advice
The first time somebody posts their whole portfolio and asks what to sell, answering feels like service. Answer it and you have started doing personalised investment advice inside a paid room, which is the one thing in this niche that can end the business rather than just cost it members. The boundary has to be on the About page, in the rules, and enforced in public the first time it is tested: the room reviews process, tracking and general mechanics, and never tells anyone what to buy or sell. Get the wording checked by someone qualified in your jurisdiction before you open the doors.
It turns into a performance scoreboard
If the monthly ritual becomes a contest for the highest yield, the room will drift toward whatever is paying most this quarter, and the members who followed it will hold you responsible when the price falls. That is how income communities turn hostile. Keep the monthly post on two things only, the income number and the one number the member cannot explain, and steer every reply toward whether the distribution was covered rather than whether it was big.
Nobody posts real numbers
The whole product is seeing other people's actual income and having your own looked at. Most people are nervous about that, so if you leave it to chance you get a forum where everybody talks about funds and nobody talks about their own position. Two fixes, from day one: let members post a range instead of an exact figure, and make the founding members post first so the norm is set before strangers arrive.
The owner goes quiet for a month
In this niche you are the proof. If your own numbers stop appearing, the room becomes a group of amateurs guessing at return of capital, and people who joined to watch how you do it start cancelling. You do not need to be online daily, but the monthly post has to be yours, on time, with real figures and at least one thing you got wrong. Miss two in a row and the ritual is dead.
